Introduction
Sea Turtles
are a special group of marine reptiles. During the breeding
season, adults will return from their foraging grounds to
their natal beaches for reproduction. At present, Sham Wan
on Lamma Island is the only existing nesting site of Green
Turtles in Hong Kong. This book describes the biology, local
status and conservation measures being carried out for the
Green Turtles in Hong Kong. Information on other turtles
in Hong Kong is also included. It aims to raise public awareness
about the importance of wildlife protection and nature conservation.
