Brief Introduction
Hong Kong, although
small in extent, has great variety in its topography, or the
landform. Hong Kong's land and coasts reflect the nature of
the underlying rock, the processes that have shaped the rocks,
the climate and sea level changes long ago. Although the topography
that we see seems to be permanent, it is, in terms of geological
time, dynamic and only temporary. Through 101 landform photos,
this book elaborates on the influences of bedrock, the power
of water and the processes of weathering, erosion and deposition
on the landforms of Hong Kong. This book provides a good introduction
to HK's physical geography.
